My Grocery List

My Weekly Grocery List
Dairy:
1 500 ml tub Organic Plain Greek Yogurt (usually Liberte)
6L Milk (you can choose any type you like, but cow’s or goat’s milk are going to be the least processed, unless you make it yourself)
500 ml Organic Cream
2 blocks natural cheese (I have found a few brands without any preservatives or gums, mainly from the UK or Europe, usually cheddar, Parmesan and goat cheese)
1 lb. Butter
1 L Buttermilk

Meat:
1 bag of frozen shrimp (try to get shrimp that’s sustainable, and not from Asia!)
4 fillets of salmon, rainbow trout, or whatever looks good!
4 chicken breasts or 8 thighs or 4 pork chops, a roast, 4 steaks, whatever again looks good and is on sale 
I would probably buy a lot more from the meat department if we didn’t have a freezer full of venison and moose meat!

Fruits and Vegetables:
1 bunch of Kale
1 large package Spinach
3 Heads of Romaine lettuce
2 cucumbers
1 large bunch of carrots
1 bag or onions
4 cloves of garlic
2 cans tomatoes
½ lb. mushrooms
1 bunch of bananas (my family’s a little crazy for bananas!)
And any other fruit or vegetable that again looks good and is a reasonable price, fresh or frozen. It also preferably should be local and organic, but that isn’t always possible. We shop at our local farmer’s market once a week and supplement with the best we can find at the grocery store where I look for organic and/or local first, then broaden my scope, but no further than the Americas (see bananas).
